A personal protection order or a PPO is the most general form of protection order. Its work is to put legal restrictions on the family member who is violent, in order to stop any further violence on any member of the family.
To grant and issue any PPO, the court should be satisfied, on some probabilities, that there has been family violence or it is likely to be committed against a member of the family. It is essential for the PPO to confine the aggressive family member. The trial process can take some time, so if you require protection order urgently, one can go for an Expedited Order.
